Bessie Mae Mosteller

Bessie Mae Hester Mosteller, age 96, of Long Shoals Road, died on Thursday, August 26, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021, in the Landers Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Gerald Ramsey officiating.
Mrs. Mosteller was born June 1, 1925, in Gaston County, to the late Noah Hester and Ila Hastings Hester. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Thomas Mosteller, Sr.; and brothers, Lum, Raymond, Haywood, Clyde, and Reece. She was the first female bus driver in Gaston County. She was an active, lifelong member of Lander’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and enjoyed being a part of the Pisgah Happy Timers group. Bessie Mae worked as a beautician, who served her clients, until she retired at age 86.
She is survived by a son, Marion Thomas Mosteller, Jr. (Patsy), of Lincolnton; granddaughters, Joy Hallman (Kevin) of Oak Island, Kim Carrigan (Chris) of Lincolnton; and Laura Taylor (Nathan) of Gastonia; and great-grandchildren, Caine Hallman, Tori Hallman, Maddox Carrigan, Ryder Carrigan, Stella Taylor, and Brody Taylor.
Memorials may be made to Lander’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 1205 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
