Joey Allen Smith, age 64, of Park Circle in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Redeemed Church with Rev. Alan Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Joey was born December 21, 1956, in Cleveland County, to the late Johnny Joe Smith and Evelyn Warlick Smith Peeler. He worked as a maintenance technician for Barnhardt Manufacturing Company in Charlotte.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Abernathy Smith of the home; children, Jason Smith, and wife Candi of North Myrtle Beach, Crystal Smith Ward, and husband Lee, of Iron Station, Josh Abernathy, and wife Erica, of Lincolnton, Allen Smith, and wife Melinda, of Cherryville, Brent Elmore, and wife Pam, of Crouse, and Randy Funderburk, and partner Stacey, of Tennessee; twenty-three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
