Letha Cunningham Heafner

Letha Cunningham Heafner, age 97, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Gainsville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Heafner was born March 15, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Thomas Clifford Cunningham and Della Kale Cunningham. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lander Heafner, Sr.; five sisters; four brothers; and a daughter, Linda Sue Houser. She worked for NC Spinning.
She is survived by her sons, Rev. Lander Heafner, Jr. (Polly) of Taylorsville, and Tommy Heafner (Beth) of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Rodney (Rhonda) and Mike Houser (Terry), Donna Millsaps (Danny), Carole Rogers (Mark), Michelle Elder, Jesse Heafner, Stephanie Morris (Mike), and Crystal Davis (Mike); fourteen great-grandchildren; and twenty-four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Gainsville Baptist Church, 270 Gainsville Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
