James Lee Willis, age 41, of Forrest Street in Newton, died on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dennis Bean officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family will gather at his sister’s home prior to the service.
James was born February 25, 1980, in Lincoln County, to Willie Lee Arrowood and Deborah Dellinger Arrowood. He worked as a forklift operator and was an avid softball player and was the founder of the ‘Dem Boyz’ softball team.
He is survived by his parents, Willie Lee and Deborah Arrowood of Lincolnton; sister, Michelle Buckner (Alan) of Vale; half-brother, Willard Arrowood; half sister, Kathryn Brittain (Doyle) of Cherryville; fiancé, Kim Setzer; stepchildren, Brittany Carpenter and Kayla Braddy; nieces, Brooklyn Arrowood, Briella Buckner, and Faith Brittain; nephews, Adam Brittain, Jason Brittain, and D.J. Brittain; and Godmother, Sheila Reynolds of Shelby.
