Mary Gaynell Funderburk Keener, age 78, of Lincolnton, died on Monday, October 25, 2021.
Mary was born September 28, 1943, in Cabarrus County, to the late Rev. Odell Funderburk and Ruby Plyler Funderburk. She worked as a counselor for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for fifteen years. In her free time, Mary loved traveling and animals.
She is survived by a sister, Renea Crumbley, and her husband Tony, of Charlotte; nephew, Tate Crumbley, and wife Norma, of Colorado; and niece, Tera Long, and husband Doug, of Charlotte. Her long-term partner was Helmut Renner.
A private memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
