Myra 'Jean' Robinson Devine
( October 4, 1930 - October 27, 2021 )
Myra ‘Jean’ Robinson Devine, age 91, of Iron Station, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, in the Iron Station Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Iron Station United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Devine officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Jean was born October 4, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Roscoe Augustus Robinson and Myra Estelle Keever Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Devine; brothers, Fred Robinson, Harry Lee Robinson, R.A. Robinson, Ralph Robinson, and Johnny Robinson; and sisters, Frances Newton and Dorothy Schronce. Jean worked as a training instructor for J.P. Stevens. She played the piano for Iron Station United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Norwood, and husband Doug, of Sherrills Ford and Robin Goodson, and husband Fred, of Pumpkin Center; two sisters, Kathryn Eurey of Lincolnton, and Fredda Robinson of Denver; five grandchildren, James, Adam, Shannon, Brooke and Lindsey; and eight great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Sydney, Saylem, Sawyer, Carter, Cody, Lainey and “Bo”; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092; Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607; or to Iron Station United Methodist Church, Scholarship Fund, 4754 E. Highway 27, Iron Station, NC 28080.
