Sarah Alice Cail Dodson

Sarah “Alice” Cail Dodson, age 81, of Peak Resources in Cherryville, and formerly of Sam Houser Road in Vale, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Troy Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Reeps Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dodson was born September 16, 1940, in Indian River County, Florida, to the late Howard N. Cail and Sarah Bruce Cail. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edward “Ted” Dodson; son-in-law, Gattis Powell; grandchildren, Josh Gantt and Casey Gantt; and great-grandchild, Jordan Killian. She was a homemaker until her husband’s retirement. She then received her degree in early childhood development. Alice retired from First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, where she was affectionately known by the children as “Grandma Alice.”
She is survived by a son, Gary Dodson (Karen) of Wilford, SC; daughters, Teresa Powell of Vale, Sarah Lynn Dodson (Dennis Morris) of Mt. Vernon, GA, and Susan Drum (Tony) of Cherryville; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
