Obituaries

Sue Robinson Christenbury, a life-long resident of Sherrills Ford, NC, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Sue was born in Sherrills Ford on August 25, 1926, to Grover Robinson and Eva Sherrill Robinson.  She graduated from Sherrills Ford High School, and got a business degree from Kings Business College in Greensboro. 

Sue was an active member at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.  At Mt. Pleasant she had been a member of the choir, part of the Jewell Dierwechter Circle, a Sunday School teacher, and served as treasurer.  Sue retired as an assistant V.P. from NCNB after 36 years.  She spent her life volunteering at Catawba Memorial Hospital, Hospice, Meals on Wheels, and went on various mission trips.  Sue was a kind, generous, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Cooking and baking for her family, friends and the community were her passions. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Simbrel Christenbury; parents, Grover and Eva Sherrill Robinson; her sister, Mabel Hostetter; and brothers, Winfred Robinson, Horace Robinson, and Roland Robinson. 

Sue is survived by her daughter, Christol Christenbury Cline and son-in-law Guy Cline; and two grandchildren, Candace Cline and Brandon Cline. 

The family will receive friends at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, followed by a celebration of life at 5:00 PM, with Pastor Jonathan Brake officiating, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4136 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673.
