Macie Joanne Saunders Hamilton

Macie Joanne Saunders Hamilton, age 82, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021.
She was born July 11, 1939 in Lincoln County, daughter of the late Jesse Jefferson Saunders and the late Mamie Burgess Saunders. She was preceded in death by her brother Leonard Saunders.
Joanne was a member of Boger City Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching her beloved Sunday school class. She was employed for over 30 years with Bellsouth. She enjoyed reading, studying scripture and family activities.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty years Billy W. Hamilton; two sons, Brian K. Hamilton and Brad L. Hamilton and wife Jeanine; and sister, Nina Saunders Martin. She is also survived by her grandchildren, McKenzie Hamilton and Alexandria Hamilton.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Joanne will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Boger City Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Bigham officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 East Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
