Donald Edward Waters
( June 15, 1938 - December 24, 2021 )
Donald Edward Waters, age 83, of Lineberger Road in Sherrills Ford, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Pastor Derek Cline and Rev. Gary Faulker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 11:45 am on Thursday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Waters was born on June 15, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Fred Linsey and Addie Bell Lane Waters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Carol Waters and one daughter, Melinda W. Cook. Mr. Waters was a truck driver with Yellow Freight for 40 years and received the Million Mile Award. He was an avid beekeeper.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Silvers Waters of the home; one daughter, Robin Rene Lopez of Richburg, SC; one stepson, Darren Silvers of Rutherfordton; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Rexrode of Shelby; three grandchildren, Ashley Cook Safrit, Amanda Rene Francis, Richard Kyle Lopez; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Safrit, Bailey Safrit.
Memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church, 5033 Lebanon Rd, Maiden, NC 28650.
