Janet Huss Whiteside

Janet Huss Whiteside, age 85, of Iron Station, died on Thursday, December 30, 2021.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Sarah Underwood officiating. Her body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Warlick Funeral Home. Masks are required to be worn during all events.
Mrs. Whiteside was born July 29, 1936, in Lincoln County, to the late Clyde and Azalee Hubbard Huss. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Marvin Whiteside; and grandson, William “Will” McLeod. She worked in textile and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Janet loved to cook and spend time with family, friends and neighbors. She was a devoted member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and loved her church family.
She is survived by three daughters, Melanie W. McLeod, and husband Joseph, of Lincolnton, Amy W. Dellinger, and fiancé Darryl Richards, and Tina W. Philemon, and husband Todd, all of Iron Station; two brothers, Thurman Huss, and wife Gail, and Jim Huss, and wife Mary, all of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Clayton Dellinger, Rebekah D. Prickett, and husband Grayson, Allison McLeod, and fiancé Mitchell Spillers, Carson Philemon, and Logan Philemon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
