Pansy Hartzog Chapman
( October 23, 1924 - April 11, 2022 )
Pansy M. Hartzog Chapman, age 97, of Henry Rhodes Road in Lincolnton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022, after a period of declining health.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crouse with Pastor Rick Sloop officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Pansy was born October 23, 1924, in Ashe County, to the late Ray Vaugh Hartzog and Mary Fox Hartzog. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hoyt W. Chapman; three brothers; and three sisters. Pansy worked as a seamstress in interior decorating.
She is survived by five daughters and their spouses: Sherry Jamil, Cathey and John Whitesides, Cindy and David Cook, Debbie and Jack Black, and Candi and Chris Dixon; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Charlotte Huffman of Newton.
