Carl Frederic Clanton
( March 24, 1942 - April 9, 2022 )
Fred went on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ April 9, 2022. His passing was due to complications with advanced dementia. Fred was predeceased by his parents, C F and Alice Clanton, of Lincolnton and his wonderful wife of 36 years, Connie Rodrigue Clanton. During his life he was a Boy Scout, a member of the Civil Air Patrol and served in the United States Air Force. He mainly lived in Lincolnton, Charlotte, and lastly Ocean Isle Beach.
Fred had an extraordinary ability to do just about anything that he wanted to do. When he was six years old, he got a bicycle for Christmas. The first thing he did was take it apart and put it back together. He was a wizard with repairing or building anything and everything. During his life he built new homes, boats, guitars, and restored old guitars along with other musical instruments. He knew about everything one could know about automobiles as well. He was an accomplished airplane pilot with his own plane. Above all else Fred was always in charge and always a force to be reckoned with.
Over his lifetime Fred served the Lord in many ways within the churches he attended. But he in later years He mostly enjoyed to share his love of faith with his family and friends. Fred’s family is grieved but celebrating his life for we know the Bible says there is no sickness, sorrow, or pain in heaven.
Fred is survived by his daughter Anne Marie Sharpe and son Carl Frederic (Buck) Clanton Jr; brother John Sidney (Sid) Clanton and his wife Karen, and stepsons James, Rick, and Shawn Hayes and his wife Sandi. Grand children: Shantel, Myriah, Sierra, Travis, Austin, Samantha, Hannah, Levi, Nicky and Taylor.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
