Joyce Dean Small Gilmer

Joyce Dean Small Gilmer, age 69, of 337 Grandview Lane in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at South River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Joyce was born April 29, 1952, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Bobby Small and Jessie Mae Mauney Small. She worked as a CNA at the Brian Center.
She is survived by a son, Eddie Michael Gates, Jr. (Virginia) of Lincolnton; three daughters, Sabrina Sumner (Kevin) of Mt. Pleasant, Anita Flynn and Mary Faye Flynn, both of Lincolnton; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Reed Small and Melvin Morrison; two sisters, Kathy Avery and Karen Reep; and numerous nieces and nephews.
