Pamela "Jeanne" Pryor Cherry
( May 15, 1947 - April 22, 2022 )
Pamela “Jeanne” Pryor Cherry of Cornelius, NC passed away peacefully to be in the Lord’s loving arms at her residence at Autumn Care of Cornelius on the morning of April 22, 2022. Jeanne was a native of Charlotte, born on May 15, 1947, to Reid and Louise Connell Pryor and resided with her parents in Lucia, NC until her parents’ death in 1964 and 1965. Jeanne went to live with her maternal Grandparents the late Lester and Etta Connell, along with her aunts, the late Miss Myrtle Connell and Miss Lois Connell. They received her and raised her as their own. Jeanne graduated from Mt. Holly High School and attended Kings College School of Business. Her career included working for Howard Connell Insurance Agency and was married to Woody Cherry in 1967, where they lived in Triangle (Denver), NC. Jeanne was a homemaker and had also been employed at The Village Cupboard Restaurant of Davidson, NC and later worked at Food Lion in Denver, NC for thirteen years, until she retired and went to live at Autumn Care of Cornelius.
Jeanne was a very devout Christian lady. Her legacy of kindness, integrity and her Christian devotion to God, where she spread His word and great love to everyone and everywhere throughout her entire lifetime. Everyone who knew Jeanne could see the joy in her heart when she did some of her favorite activities, such as going to the beach, listening to live Music, and she sure did love Elvis Presley. Jeanne also loved to read, go to the movies, she loved to dine out and was quite the foodie and loved to read cookbooks. Jeanne had a heart for the Lord and loved to attend church and watch Christian television. Jeanne loved to be with people and she never met a stranger, she could be and was the best friend to us all!
All her Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and some cousins have preceded her in death and have gone on to be with the Lord.
Jeanne is survived by her family and dear friends, all were considered her family, brothers and sisters in the Lord. She was well loved and is survived by the following:
Cousins: Dale Connell, Dean Connell, Darryl Connell (Carol), Larry Pryor (Nancy)
God Daughters: Ashley Sigmon, Jennifer Nelms
Former Husband: Woody Cherry
Friends & Family: Linda & Philip Graham, John & June Cherry, Lina & Jim Nixon, Drew & Angela Neill ( Scarlett, Graham, Everly Neill), Bob & Kathy Montbleau, Pam Coley, Jim Nixon (Judy), Tommy Everhart, Deborah Starczewski, Shirley Rush, Rev .Dr. Hilda Brittain, Debbie Sanders, Sandi Ries, Pat & Mike Beane, LaFreda Ralph, Karen Sawhill, and the many other friends and coworkers she thoroughly enjoyed knowing and loving.
There will be a Visitation Gathering & Memorial Service Monday, May 2, 2022. Visitation: 11:00 am / Memorial Service following 12:00 pm
Memorials may be offered in memory of Jeanne to your favorite Church, Ministry or Charity of Choice.
