Leah Beach Messick
( October 31, 1920 - April 29, 2022 )
Leah Beach Messick, at the age of 101 years old, of Sherrills Ford, NC passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Her funeral and home going will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel in Lincolnton. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC.
Miss Messick was born October 31, 1920, in Caldwell County, to the late Shular Talmage Messick and Cornelia Etta “Nelia” Holden Messick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings John Henry Messick, Bina Fay Messick, Marylee Trammell, William Holden Messick, and Gene Edward Messick.
Leah left home taking a bus to Washington, DC at 20 years old. She enjoyed working at the Pentagon during World War II. Then arriving back to Charlotte, NC, Leah worked at the Advent Christian General Conference of American Headquarters until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with family and beach trips. She will be remembered for her deep devotion to Jesus Christ, her family, and for the kindness she showed to all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Victor Hamilton Messick and wife Laura Bowman-Messick of Sherrills Ford; nieces, Linda Howard of Mint Hill, Barbara Mangum and husband Greg of Matthews, and Karen Prather of Lenoir; nephew, Brian Hamilton Messick and wife Sheila of Charlotte; other nieces and nephews, and other great-nieces and nephews.
