Larry Sherman Hoyle, age 68 of Lincolnton died Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Larry was born June 27, 1953 in Lincoln County. He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Hoyle. Larry was a residential general contractor for 25 years.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Nathan Grooms will conduct the service.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Jan Lackey Hoyle of the home; son, David Shane Bumgarner (Amy) of Lincolnton; two daughters, Traci Hoyle Dellinger (Mike) and Shelli Hoyle Jenkins (Scott) both of Lincolnton; mother, Alice Jean Hoyle of Lincolnton; sister, Tami Rebecca Hoyle of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Austin Michael Dellinger, Noah Scott Jenkins and Cortney Amber Jenkins.
Larry was truly an outdoorsman with a long list of hobbies which he tackled one at a time, to the point of obsession. He was very competitive and gave everything he did 110%. He was always in it to win it. Among his hobbies were bass fishing, go cart racing, dirt track racing, barefoot skiing, building motors and team roping. He also liked camping which he and his wife enjoyed for years. Occasionally, he took time away from his hobbies to build a house or two.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to (HATS) Helping Animals to Survive, P.O. Box 243, Denver, NC 28037.
