William Vines Parsons, Jr.

William Vines “Bill” Parsons, Jr., age 90, of Iron Station, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Byrd and Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Parsons was born October 19, 1931, in Pikeville, Tennessee, to the late William Vines Parsons, Sr. and Margaret Cooper Parsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Parsons, and a sister, Doris Pierce. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 – 1954 during the Korean Conflict. He later returned home and worked in shipping and distribution.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Mynatt Parsons of the home; three sons, Bill Parsons, III (Carol) of Iron Station, Daniel Parsons (Tracy) of Midland, NC, and David Parsons (Sha) of Vale; two daughters, Sherryl Stewart (Dean) of Anderson, SC, and Jan Price of Lincolnton; sister, Louise Robinson of Rock Hill, SC; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
