Delia Faye Bumgarner Fortenberry

Delia Faye Bumgarner Fortenberry, age 88, of Nelson Drive in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, June 3, 2022.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Victory Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Sandy Bozeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fortenberry was born June 25, 1933, in Gaston County, to the late Iris Dugan Bumgarner and Ada Lane Bumgarner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loy H. Fortenberry; son, Gary Fortenberry; daughter, Faye Lynn Fortenberry; brother, Paul Bumgarner; and sister, Eleene Powers. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a son, Randall Fortenberry (Amy) of Mt. Holly; daughters, Sharon Avery (Robert “Buck”) of Crouse and Doris Fortenberry (Joe Farrell) of Roxboro; sister, Doris Lester of Gastonia; daughter-in-law, Nancy Fortenberry of Stanley; three grandchildren, David Fortenberry, Amber Walls, and Megan Avery; and three great-grandchildren, Gary Lee Walls, Natalie Ruth Fortenberry, and Eli James Fortenberry.
Memorials may be made to Victory Hill Baptist Church, 2300 Philadelphia Church Road, Dallas, NC 28034.
