Ralph "Jim" Davidson Sherrill

Ralph “Jim” Davidson Sherrill, age 83, of Denver passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Shane McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Sherrill was born January 1, 1939 in Lincoln County to the late William Ralph and Jessie Howard Sherrill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jo Audrey Sherrill Holbrooks and Gail Sherrill; two brothers, Murrey Sherrill and Richard Sherrill. Mr. Sherrill was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 82nd Airborne. He was owner and operator of S & L Sawmill in Denver for 32 years until retirement. He was a lifelong member of Webbs United Methodist Church.
His life was the story of hard work, ambition and the love of family and friends. He was a man of few words so when he spoke everyone listened. He had much wisdom to share. He took care of and provided guidance to all that crossed his path.
The love he had for his wife of over 59 years was unmatched. He spent each and every day by her side. He was most proud of his grandchildren and great grandchild. When speaking of each one of them and their accomplishments, it was sure to bring a smile to his face.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Kelly Sherrill of the home; two daughters, LaDonna Sherrill Richardson and husband Chet, Kelly Sherrill Jones and husband Brandon, both of Denver; one brother, Tony Sherrill and wife Sue; sister, Barbara Sherrill Sifford; five grandchildren, Meghan Richardson, Sara Abernathy, Drew Richardson, Kaylie Jones, Brooks Jones; great grandson, Micah Moody.
