George Wilbur Boyd, Jr.

George W. Boyd Jr. 83, died on Saturday, October 29, 2022. George was born on December 28, 1938 to the late George W. Boyd, Sr. and Pearline Watts Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Neal Boyd.
George grew up in Kannapolis and China Grove and was employed most of those years and retired from Yellow Freight System, Inc.
George is survived by his wife, Susan Huss Boyd; sons, George W. Boyd III and wife Ann, Jeff Boyd and wife Angie; daughter Sara B. Schrum. Grandchildren are Scott Boyd (Rhenee), Faith B. Rimmer (Justin), Christen B. Parker (Ryan), Rachel Schrum and Nathan Schrum. Great grandchildren are R.J., Brooklyn and Addisynn Parker and Ava and Uriah Rimmer. He is also survived by many loved nephews and nieces.
George was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Receiving of friends will be from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the North Wing of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Lincolnton NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 South Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC or Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
