Shirley C. Smith, age 86, of Jennings Street in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, January 12, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Wyant officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Shirley was born May 6, 1936, in Swain County, to the late Willie Cunningham. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Holbrooks and a granddaughter, Emily Clara Boyles. She worked for the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and was the 2011 Woman of the Year and a 50-year member of the BPW.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Boyles (Allen) of Virginia, and Suzette Holbrooks of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Laura Curry and Jessica Potts (Tony); and three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Lydia, and Davion .
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
