Peggy Justice Dellinger
( June 9, 1929 - January 13, 2023 )
Peggy Justice Dellinger died at age 93 the evening of January 13, 2023 with her daughters Susan and Gloria at her side.
Peggy was preceded in death by her son Wayne Anthony Klutz, and her first husband Grady Klutz.
In 1994, Peggy married Garland “Bud” Dellinger of Lincolnton and shared a wonderful life with him until he died in 2002.
She was “Great Aunt Peggy” to her dear nieces and nephews and their children.
Her special friend, Wilson Cook, remained her steadfast and devoted companion until her death.
Peggy will long be remembered as a happy and positive woman devoted to her family and friends, as a “Dumpling Queen” of great standing, a member of Riverview Baptist Church, where she was for many years the coordinator of the Happy Hearts Group, the church’s group of seniors.
The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Riverview Baptist Church with graveside service/interment at 3:00 PM at Forest Lawn, Lincolnton, NC. Pastors Barry Brookshire and Ricky Brown will officiate the ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riverview Baptist Church, to an animal rescue organization or a hospice of your choice in memory of Peggy.
Peggy was born on June 9, 1929 in Lincoln County, NC to William and Iva Justice. She married Grady Klutz in 1945. Peggy got her cosmetology license in Hickory, NC, where she managed a hair salon. She and Grady lived on the ocean in their boat, The Wahoo, for many years. Peggy worked at Lincoln Nursing Center until she retired.

Peggy is survived by three daughters: Vivian Darnell and spouse Daniel, Susan Colvard and spouse Jewel Lee, and Gloria Klutz; by her sister Phyllis Mills and spouse Walter; grandchildren Toby Colvard and spouse Melissa, Jennifer Hughes, Maximilian Rupplin, Brent Colvard, DJ Mooney and spouse Katie, Joe Mooney, Geoffrey Darnell, Amanda Darnell, Zachary Darnell and spouse Allison; great-grandchildren Ashley McKelvain and spouse Henry, Tyler Colvard and spouse Sarah, CJ Jonas, Madison Colvard, Bane Colvard, Baylor Colvard, Devlin Mooney, Holly Darnell, Lauren Darnell, Tristan Darnell, and Gavin Darnell; great-great grandchildren Damien Land, Scarlett and Charlie McKelvain, and Caroline Colvard.
Peggy remained close to and loved Myna Cronland like a daughter.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Riverview Baptist Church, 2230 Riverview Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
