Hazel Galloway Buzzard

Hazel Galloway Buzzard, age 81, of Alexis, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Gardens in Mount Holly with Rev. Vernon Cope officiating.
Hazel was born June 12, 1941, in Transylvania County, to the late Cephas and Lillian Stamey Galloway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Buzzard; sons, Roger Brown and Theodore Brown; and sister, Virginia Galloway.
Hazel was a CNA. She did private duty until she retired. She enjoyed her job dearly. She was always wanting to help someone. She also enjoyed music and dancing. She made many friends going to various places to listen to music and dance.
Hazel loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She made it her passion to try and take care of her whole family and friends she encountered through her life. She only saw the good in everyone she knew and met. She will truly be missed by all of those that loved her and knew her.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph Brown of Gastonia, Darrin Brown of Alexis and one daughter, Sharon Brown Tallent of Alexis; sister, Jean Lanier of Sunset Beach; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
