Mary Lou Steele

Mary Lou Steele, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, age 72, of Lincolnton, passed peacefully at Atrium Health Lincoln, surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Warlick Funeral Home, followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Hull officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.
Mary was born on February 6, 1951, in Welch, WV, to the late Hayes and Myrtle Steele. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers Kermit (Buddy) Steele, Raymond (Dude) Steele, Ronnie Steele, John (Jack) Steele, Hayes (Rooney) Steele, and sisters Helen Hamilton and Brenda Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Danny (Tina) Johnson, Sherry (Tom) Leatherman, Sammy (Jessica) Johnson; grandchildren, Heather, Danielle (Justice), Halie (Coty), Ethan and Eva; great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Kenzleigh, Paisley, Maverick, Madalynn and Conner; brother Clarence (Dreama) Steele; sisters Betty (Jimmy) Felts and Linda Day; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
