Obituaries

Carol Dean Scronce, age 80, of The Greens at Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, in the Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ronnie Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Friday at Crowell Memorial United Methodist Church fellowship hall.

Mr. Scronce was born July 3, 1943, in Lincoln County, to the late Clarence George Scronce and Pearl Opal Smith Scronce.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Lee Scronce, Glenn Scronce, Kenneth Scronce, and his step-mother, Thelma Walker Scronce.  Carol worked in furniture manufacturing for Ethan Allen. 

He is survived by three nephews, Keith Scronce (Lisa), Chad Scronce, and Kelly Scronce (Christine); and two nieces, Rhonda Johnson (Victor), and Sherry Carpenter (Trent).
