Clayton Henry Ballard, Sr.

Clayton Henry Ballard, Sr., age 82, of Reepsville Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, July 10, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Ballard was born August 15, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Edmond Luther Ballard and Mary Loftin Ballard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Henry Ballard, Jr.; brothers, Charles Ballard and Bill Ballard; sister, Betty Ballard; half-sisters, Mary Seagle, Margaret Wise, Eunie Sigmon, and Bonnie Guest; and half-brother, Elsie James Ballard. He worked for National Fruit Products.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Hines Ballard of the home; sons, David Ballard (Melissa) of Lincolnton, and Sam Ballard (Kelly) of South Carolina; daughter, Patricia Beaver (fiancé Doug) of Maryland; daughter-in-law, Ann Ballard of Walkertown; grandchildren, Lindsey Dudley (Tanner) of Durham, Bonnie Ballard of DC, Dylan Beaver of Japan, Kyle Beaver of MD, Hana Ballard of Durham, Natalie McAbee (Kevin) of Lewisburg, Sydney Ballard of SC, Clay Ballard of SC; brother, Dennis Ballard (Evelyn) of Lincolnton; sister, Peggy Thrift (Richard) of Cherryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
