Carlie Monroe Tallent

Carlie Monroe Tallent, age 87, of 4046 Maiden Highway in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Gary Mac Saunders officiating. The family will greet friends following the graveside service.
Mr. Tallent was born February 26, 1936, in Burke County, to the late Vance and Rene Buff Tallent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vertie Schronce Tallent; stepdaughter, Pat Garris; brothers Gene Tallent, Grady Tallent, Howard Tallent, and Robert Tallent; and sisters, Bertha Hull and Dollie Parker. He worked in textiles. Carlie was a member of Union Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, Janice Dellinger (Carroll Dean) of Lincolnton; stepsons, Noel Keener (LouAnn), and Nathan Keener (Myra), all of Lincolnton; step son-in-law, Jerry Garris of Lincolnton; nephew, Larry Tallent (Helen) of Lawndale; nieces, Peggy Jones (Roy) of Kings Mountain, and Betty Tallent of Lawndale; grandchildren, Jeff Dellinger, Billy Dellinger, Donna Gunter, Angie Mosteller, Michelle Keener, Rhonda Sain, Tony Keener, and Melissa Beal; great-grandchildren, Christian Jolly, Hunter Garcia, Sage Hoyle, Kailee Midgette, Zoe Grace Midgette, Nate Midgette, Gavin Sain, Josh Mosteller, Hayley Mosteller, Eric Gunter, Emily Gunter, Anthony Keener, Kevin Keener, Madison Beal, Maddox Beal, Danielle Hedgepeth, Waylon Dellinger, Jeffery Dellinger, and Brianna Dellinger; and great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hedgepeth, Brinkley Hedgepeth, Maddie Dellinger, Conner Dellinger, Brooklyn Mosteller, and Charlotte Mosteller.
