Bobbie Leatherman Robinson

Bobbie Leatherman Robinson, age 85, of Woodvale Circle in Lincolnton, died peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Bobbie was born February 11, 1938, in Catawba County, to the late J. Ralph and Edith Propst Leatherman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Odell Robinson; and brothers Kermit Leatherman and Jerald Leatherman.
She is survived by three daughters, Felicia Robinson Cherry (John) of Tulsa, OK, Susan Robinson Rhodes (Jeff) of Glen Allen, VA, and Carole Anne Robinson of Lincolnton; boyfriend, Fred Morrison of Lincolnton; brother, Michael Leatherman (Barbara) of Newton; two sisters, Shirley L. Havnaer of Hickory and Brenda L. Hess (Glenn) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; sister-in-law, Phyllis Leatherman of Newton; six grandchildren: Anna Cherry, Lydia Cherry Goss (Jeff), Morgan Mitchem Day (Taylor), Madison Rhodes, Macy Mitchem, and Seth Rhodes; and one great-granddaughter, Hatton Finley Day along with many nieces and nephews.
Bobbie graduated from Fred T. Ford High School and went on to secretarial school at Lenoir Rhyne College where she met her husband, Carroll.
She was first and foremost a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Bobbie deeply loved her family and her Christian love and care extended to her church and community. She always found time to help others in need in various ways. She was a blessing to a countless number of people.
Her love for gardening and talent for flower arranging were evident in her home and in her yard. She was a life-long member of several garden clubs. She was passionate about playing card games, especially Bridge, with friends and family. Her other interests included college basketball games, music, dancing, and entertaining guests in her home.
Bobbie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and had a special relationship with the Lord. She was a loving and gracious person who will be deeply missed by a myriad of friends and family.
The family would like to express their gratitude for her special caregivers: Lisa Bentley, Lynn Jones, Nicole Kaylor, Penny Jones, Kitty Wray, Carolyn Gantt, Cathy Houser, and Kathy Gates.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 493 Calvary Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
