Mary Hartsoe Ward

Mary “Dabbin’ Granny” Hartsoe Ward, age 103, of North Oak Street in Lincolnton, died on Monday, September 18, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Rev. Thomas Beers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Family Life Center.
Mrs. Ward was born March 29, 1920, in Lincoln County to the late Doras Preston Hartsoe, Sr. and Ada Francis Elizabeth Rhyne Hartsoe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hal Ward; daughter, Frankie Sue Beam; brothers, Charlie Hartsoe, D.P. Hartsoe, Jr., Ray Hartsoe, Forest Hartsoe, Carl Hartsoe, Hillard Hartsoe, and George Hartsoe. She worked in furniture manufacturing.
She is survived by granddaughters, Jackie Walters Smith of Lincolnton, and Melissa Karnes of TX; grandson, Lee Minor of TX; great-grandson, Justin Smith (Kristen Watson) of the home; caregivers, Dianne Camp of Cherryville, and Susan Withrow of Kings Mountain.
Memorials may be made to Bethphage Lutheran Church, 3440 Highway 182, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
