Carolyn Jones Gibby

Carolyn Jones Gibby, age 79, of Brookhaven Drive in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Lincolnton Church of God with Bishop Danny Houser and Rev. Dr. Richard King, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Monday.
Carolyn was born April 29, 1944, in Avery County, to the late Howard and Amanda Buchanan Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Lindner and Helen Benfield. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Gibby of the home; three daughters, Robin Weiss Jenkins (Dale) and Tracey Duncan, all of Lincolnton, and Amanda Elmore (Brent Lucas) of Stanley; sister, Kathy Buchanan of Newland, NC; brothers, Bo Jones, Danny Jones, Roger Jones, and D.J. Jones (Brenda) all of Newland, NC; grandchildren, Jamie Bryant, Noelle Heddle, Noah Jenkins, Zach Avery, Gabe Duncan, Chloe Elmore (fiancé Brendon Ikard), and Keely Elmore.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
