Mary Elizabeth Blalock "Lib" Parker

Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Blalock Parker, age 98 of Lincolnton, died on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Farnsworth officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mary was born May 15, 1925, in Cleveland County, to the late Clyde and Annie Belle Washburn Blalock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Paul Parker; son, Theodore Parker; brother, Roy Blalock; and sisters, Ella Mae Weaver, Lauris Wray, Alma Bailey, Amaryllis Lyons, Faye Ormond, and Ruby McCoy. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Whitesides of the home; son, Robert Parker (Teresa) of the home; grandsons, Bobby Parker (Viola) of Lincolnton, and Joey Parker (Sonia) of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters, Melia Videtto (Hal) of Lake Worth, FL, Candace Gifford of Sanford, NC, and Kassidy Blanton (Charlie) of Shelby; great-grandchildren, Addison and Marlee Videtto, Courtney Folsom, Brandon Folsom, Matthew Parker, Colton Blanton, and Carter Blanton; and great-great-grandchildren, Bennett Brown and Silas Folsom; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1725 Southside Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
