Burlina June Younger

Surrounded by her close family, Burlina June Younger, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, of Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the age of 75.
Born May 12, 1948, to the late Cecil and Doris Flippo in Bristow, Oklahoma, Burlina went on to grow up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and have a career in healthcare working with new mothers at the hospital and then in a doctor’s OB/GYN office.
Burlina leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Marvin Younger, and four children; son, Rick Younger and wife Janet; son, Kelly Younger; son, Chris Younger and wife, Amy; daughter, Nicole Thorne and husband, Michael; and her five grandchildren, Caleb Younger, Sarah Younger, Maggie Younger, Riley Thorne, and Austin Thorne; along with brother, Cecil, and sister, Doris.
She focused on providing her children with the best life possible without worrying about herself. She was always involved in what her kids and grand kids did, taught them to be humble and kind, taught them how to provide for themselves, and never left them wanting...she always found a way to get that special something for birthdays and Christmases. Burlina loved her family more than anything, genuinely interested in what made you happy, and fiercely protected her family...she was a real momma bear. She was faithful to God and often spoke about seeing her mother and loved ones again in heaven.
Burlina was a truly great woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family, that loves her dearly. She was a selfless woman whose passing leaves an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all those who knew her.
Her memorial service will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Gainsville Baptist Church in Lincolnton, North Carolina with Pastor Charles Holland officiating. All are welcome to attend.
