Bernice Payseur Black

Bernice Payseur Black, age 82, of High Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Black was born December 20, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Arnold and Gertie Hedgepeth Payseur. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean Black; and a brother, Floyd Payseur. She worked as a beautician and owner of Beauty Villa, and was the owner and operator of Dean’s Superette.
She is survived by a son, Terry D. Black (Angela) of Lincolnton; sister, Delphia Shook (David) of Mt. Holly; one granddaughter, Brittany Landrum (Lankin) of Amarillo, TX; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Landon; and special friend, David Dellinger.
