Darrell Gene Lawing

Darrell Gene Lawing, age 92, of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Maiden with Rev. Matt Seagle officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Lawing was born August 6, 1931, in Catawba County, to the late John Sinclair Lawing and Floner Schronce Lawing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Ballard Lawing; and a brother, Jerry Reed Lawing. Darrell was an accountant.
He is survived by a son, Marty Lawing (Susan) of Florida; sister, Avoneal Lawing Ballard of Charlotte; grandson, Taylor James; and two great-grandchildren.
