Yvonne Javert Metcalf

Yvonne Javert Metcalf, age 77, of Cherry Street in High Shoals, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at High Shoals Church of God with Rev. Billy Dunigan officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at the church.
Yvonne was born September 10, 1946, in New York City, NY, to the late Carl Theodore Javert and Yvonne Reinhardt Shelton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scotty Metcalf. She worked as a receptionist at the Lincoln County Health Department.
She is survived by a grandson, Joseph Shane Metcalf of Gastonia; two great-grandchildren, Abel and Jaxson Metcalf; and numerous cousins.
Memorials may be made to High Shoals Church of God, 601 N. Lincoln Street, High Shoals, NC 28077.
