Harold Gordon Scronce

Harold Gordon Scronce, age 83, of Sigmon Dairy Road in Newton, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Mundy and Rev. Fred Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Scronce was born December 21, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Amos and Annie Beaver Scronce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sue Rogers. He worked as a plant manager in furniture manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Elmore Scronce of the home; daughter, Debbie Rome (Michael ) of Maiden; sisters, Ruby Pendleton and Hazel Warlick (Jack) of Lincolnton; brother, Dean Scronce (Betty) of Crouse; grandson, Zachary Rome (Torey) of Lincolnton; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Linley Rome.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 6105 Startown Road, Maiden, NC 28650.
