Velvie Carolyn Elliott Long

Velvie Carolyn Elliott Long, age 67, of Long Circle in Iron Station, died on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Alexis Baptist Church with Rev. Zach Kennedy officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Velvie was born August 20, 1956, in Loris, South Carolina, to the late Jeffie Elliott, Jr. and Eunice Lewis Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Wayne Elliott. Velvie was the dietary manager at Holy Angels. She met her calling in life as a caregiver to all. She loved animals and she loved people. She was an avid gardener.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight Long of the home; daughter, Wendy Sue Elliott of Stanley, Son, Jeffrey “Stuart” Fowler of Iron Station; brothers, David Elliott of Conway, SC, and Robert Elliott of Loris, SC; sister, Taffy Carroll of Conway, SC; special aunt, Eloise Safarian; and special friend, Robin Ritchie.
