Michael Joe "Ernie" Patterson

Micheal Joe “Ernie” Patterson, age 48, of Cochrane Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Patterson was born March 21, 1975, in Lincoln County, to the late Billy Joe Patterson and Frances Elaine Hester Burgess. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Donald Benjamin Burgess, and grandparents, Lathan and Myrtle Hester. He worked as a land surveyor.
He is survived by a sister, Barbara Lloyd (Harry) of Lincolnton; brother, Justin Burgess (Amber) of Lincolnton; nephew, Harley Lloyd of Lincolnton; niece, Jennifer Hoffman (Devan) of Taylorsville; aunt, Barbara Hester of Lincolnton; uncles, Lathan Hester, Jr. (Rhonda) and David Hester, all of Lincolnton; cousin, Wendy McSwain (Larry); and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
