Ricky Dale Duckworth
( April 6, 1959 - February 16, 2024 )
Ricky “Rick” Dale Duckworth, age 64 of Lincolnton passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Rick was born April 6, 1959 in Lincoln County. He was an Electrical Contractor and retired from the Catawba County School System. His quick wit, playful nature and smile lit up any room he entered. He was loved by all but cherished by his grandchildren. They will miss his golf cart and pontoon rides, as well as swim races at the “DUCK POND”. He made everyone feel appreciated and special. While his family will so miss that kind spirit, we are joyful to know his service to others will live on through his organ donation. His character resulted in everyone he met being better off for knowing him.
His funeral service will be11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Reepsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday night at Warlick Funeral Home.
Rick is survived by his wife, Kim Duckworth; mother, Doris Hoyle Duckworth; children, Angie Grantham (David), Stacy Fickling (Tim), Hunter Felkel, Trevor Felkel (Tiffany); brother, Terry Duckworth (Marsha); grandchildren, Kate Grantham, Sarah Grantham, Lindsay Grantham, Audrey Felkel and Hank Felkel. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Bud” Duckworth.
Memorials to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis TN 38105. Rick was a donor and the family would also like to give you the opportunity to make donations to Lifeshares of the Carolinas, P.O. Box 32861, Charlotte, NC 28232.
The family will be at the home of Mr. Duckworth, 2400 Carriage Lane, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
