Vivian Sain Hartsoe Carpenter
( December 13, 1938 - February 24, 2024 )
Vivian Sain Hartsoe Carpenter, age 85, of Highway 182 in Cherryville, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Tommy Lineberger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Carpenter was born December 13, 1938, in Cleveland County, to the late Julius Lester Sain and Clida Leona Houser Sain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Stowe Carpenter; first husband, William Dorus Hartsoe; daughter, Cindy Hartsoe Martin; five brothers; and three sisters. She taught at West Lincoln High School for thirty years.
She is survived by daughters, Tamera Hartsoe Smith (Henry) of Hickory, and Rebecca Hartsoe Smith (Chad) of Vale; step-son, Scott Carpenter (Lisa) of Cherryville; grandchildren, Mandy and Julie Cloninger, Michael Martin, Dylan Smith, Callie Fisher, Camille Jenkins, and Nathan Carpenter; and great-grandchildren, Braxton Carpenter, Klaus Carpenter, and Josie Carpenter.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 7, Vale, NC 28168.
