Judy Faye Sigmon Rhyne

Judy Faye Sigmon Rhyne, age 78, died peacefully at Clemmons Village Assisted Living Care Center on Friday, March 15, 2024.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery of Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Judy was born February 19, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Alice Vertibee Withers Sigmon and Bennie Baxter Sigmon of Granite Falls, NC. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, William D. Rhyne of 44 years; her sister, Peggy Geraldine Sigmon Austin of Suffolk, VA and sister, Shirley Jean Sigmon Austin of Chesapeake, VA.
Judy is survived by her brothers, Bennie Baxter Sigmon, Jr. of Roseburg, OR, Harley Dean Sigmon of Fancy Gap, VA, John Pinkney Sigmon of Hickory, NC, Douglas Eric Sigmon of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and sisters, Mary Alice Sigmon Jaynes of Willow Springs, NC, Trudy Mae Sigmon Morton of Lincolnton, NC, and Joed Vista Sigmon of Winter Haven, FL.
Judy was born and grew up in Granite Falls, NC then attended Brevard College receiving a degree in Christian Education and received a Masters Degree from Appalachian State University in Teaching. She worked as a Director of Christian Education and as a teacher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to N.A.M.I. (National Alliance on Mental Health) or Foundation of Hope to help with funding clinical research projects that will change the landscape for those who struggle with mental illness. NAMI.org or FoundationofHope.com – Raleigh, NC.
