Ralph Edwin Cochrane, Jr.
( February 25, 1939 - April 6, 2024 )
Ralph Edwin Cochrane Jr., age 85, of Sherrills Ford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
Born February 25, 1939, he resided in Lincolnton for many years and attended Stetson University in Florida. He was a co-owner and Vice President of Manufacturing for Cochrane Furniture Company.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Edwin Cochrane Sr. and Ann Elmore Cochrane of Lincolnton.
He is survived by his wife, Kathye Barker Cochrane; sons Ralph Edwin Cochrane III and wife April, Michael Gordon Cochrane and wife Lee Ann; daughter Virginia Cochrane Thompson (Ginger) and husband Charles; grandchildren Ralph Edwin Cochrane IV, Chase Michael Cochrane, Tennille Harper Wyckoff, Weston Gordon Harper and Charley Edwin Thompson; great grandchildren Zachary Alan Wyckoff, Ayden Bryce Gregory, April Grace Wyckoff and Stella Kate Cochrane.
He was a natural athlete and had many interests including fishing, golf, reading, cooking, crosswords and puzzles. He especially enjoyed fishing and playing golf with his sons and grandsons. He will be remembered for his laughter, ability to bring a smile, his love of life and many good friends of all ages.
A private graveside service will be held, with Reverend Steve Autry officiating. A Celebration of Life with family and friends will follow from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Vesuvius Vineyards, 6173 Vesuvius Furnace Rd, Iron Station, NC 28080.
