Evelyn McCaslin Cochrane
( September 23, 1941 - April 7, 2024 )
Evelyn McCaslin Cochrane of Lincolnton, and a native of Maiden, went to be with the Lord the morning of April 7, 2024. She was 82 years old.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. A private inurnment will follow.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister JoAnne Potts, and her parents Louis and Margaret McCaslin. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry Cochrane of 41 years; his four sons, Jerry, Jr. (Teresa), John (Roxanna), Jim (Christy), Joel (Terri) and their families; her sister, Agnes Cline; two nieces, Kristi Keable (Mike), Brandee Bryant (Bob) and their families; two nephews, Mitch Cline (Cindy), Casey Potts (Tia) and their families.
While she had no children, she considered her nieces and nephews her own and was known lovingly as “Aunt E.” She loved the Lord, her family and friends, her church family, and beautiful things. She enjoyed fitness and spent many hours with her friends at the “Y” every day. She loved spending time in the NC mountains, as well as “The Beach House” in Windy Hill SC. She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to the charity of your choice.
