Obituaries

Mary Ellen Robertson Shuford, age 89, of Trinity Ridge, and formerly of Iron Station, died on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 2639 E. Highway 150 in Lincolnton, with Pastor Chad Walker officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be private.

Mrs. Shuford was born September 6, 1934, in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, to the late Fred Argle Robertson and Irene Violet Denniston Robertson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Eugene Shuford.  She was the former deli manager at Winn-Dixie in Stanley and later worked at Magic Cleaners in Boger City.

She is survived by five children, John Frederick Dancoff (Cindy), James Thomas Dancoff (Patti), Karen Dancoff Harrill (Steve), Dennis Joseph Dancoff (Kymberly), and Deborah Shuford Jordan (Jeff), all of Lincolnton; eleven grandchildren, Alisha Tuck, John Dancoff, Jr., Breanna Tapp, Bethany Lerch, Tyler Wilson, Cory Dancoff, Chelsey Morrow, Katie Hare, Adam Dancoff, Taylor Alexander, and Joshua Jordan; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
