Roy Lee Coffey

Mr. Roy Lee Coffey, age 86, of Detter Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence and Rev. Phillip Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Coffey was born May 16, 1938 in Caldwell County to the late Hardy and Gertrude Bean Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Absher. He served as a superintendent of mail for the United States Post Office.
Survivors include his wife, Shelby Jean Messer Coffey of the home; one son, Alan Coffey and wife Rebecca of Vale; one daughter, Brenda Coffey and fiancé Freddie Sherrill of Lincolnton; one brother, Charles Coffey of Morganton; two sisters, Alma Kincaid of Hudson, Lena Nichols of Hudson; grandchildren, Timothy Williams, Jr., Nicholas Williams, Ethan Williams, Caleb Williams, Hannah Calhoun and husband Josh and Chuck Mallory; three great grandchildren.
