Ivey P. Loftin, Jr.
( July 11, 1950 - July 5, 2024 )
Ivey P. Loftin, Jr. (also known as Junior), 73, of Lincolnton passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, July 5, 2024.

Born in Lincoln County, NC, he was the son of the late Ivey P. Loftin, Sr. and Mottie Rash Loftin.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey Loftin Duren.

For most of his life, Junior worked as a truck driver; he was also proud of serving as an EMT with the Lincoln County EMS early in his life. He was an active member for many years of Victory Grove Church where he led the choir. He was currently a member of Pisgah Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and fellowshipping with the Pisgah Methodist Men.  Junior also served his community as President of the Pisgah Happy Timers Senior Group where he organized many memorable trips. He loved doing this with his wife June beside him. He touched so many lives and was himself enriched by the wonderful people who went with them on these trips. God blessed him with the gift of a beautiful voice that he used for God's glory. He was also asked many times to sing at weddings and funerals, which he considered an honor.  Each October June and Junior looked forward to attending the LHS 60-70 class reunion where they hosted the Bingo games and entertained everyone with stories and jokes.

Junior was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family and friends with such an unconditional love which was returned to him again and again.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, June Cloninger Loftin; his children, Ivey Loftin III and his children Ivey and Gracie; Joel Loftin (Jennifer) and their daughter Ollie; Elaina Hovis (Chris) and their children, Gavin and Madelyn; grandchildren Kaylah Loftin (Micheal) and their children, Makensie and Marcel; Olivia Duren; and Joshua Duren (Elizabeth); and his sister, Joyce Loftin.

A memorial service and a celebration of his life will be held at Pisgah Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024. The Reverends Sarah Underwood, Charles Stevens, and Chris Humphreys will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pisgah Methodist Church.
