Wallace Kerns Earley, Sr.
( January 13, 1968 - December 3, 2024 )
Wallace Kerns Earley, Sr., age 56, of Iron Station, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born January 13, 1968, in Mecklenburg County, to Sandra Bell Moore Earley and the late William Wallace Earley. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Annie Belle Clary; and beloved son, Wallace Kerns Earley, Jr. He worked as a General Superintendent for NRP Group.
Wallace was a devoted husband and father and always provided for his family. He was intelligent, compassionate and had a strong sense of integrity. He was dedicated to his work and making sure projects were completed thoroughly and on time. Wallace did many things throughout his life. In his younger years, he was a scout for Boy Scouts of America, enjoyed boxing and working on cars. He served in the United States Navy. His favorite thing to do was to be surrounded by his family and friends telling stories from the good ole days. He enjoyed classic car shows and joy riding in his corvette. His love for his heritage was big and going to the Highland Games every year. He enjoyed glamping and fishing by the river. He loved baking, dancing and having a good time and had a great sense of humor and was quick-witted.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Melanie Clary Earley of the home; daughters, Crystal Earley (Buddy Prevatt) of Lincolnton, Samantha Smith (Cory) of Terrell, and Jessica Coyne (Brendon) of Lincolnton; son, Sean Earley of Iron Station; bonus daughter, Emi Mae of Iron Station; father-in-law, Charles F. Clary of Lincolnton; brothers, Timothy Earley (Cindy) of Waxhaw, David Earley (Hollie) of Charlotte, and Cavan Hoose (Angela) of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Anastasia, William, and Arabella Prevatt, Leilana Earley, Clary Nell Smith, and Louison Coyne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Warlick Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dexter Greene officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception will be held at the family home following the service on Monday.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Wallace will be deeply missed and remembered as a loving son, father, brother and friend. His legacy will live on through all the lives he touched.
