Ruby Lee Beal Lackey
( December 20, 1927 - December 18, 2024 )
Ruby Lee Beal Lackey, age 96, of Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, two days shy of her 97th birthday.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating.
Ruby was born December 20, 1927, in Lincoln County, to the late Walter Pinkman Beal and Annie Lee Burgess Beal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Guy Linwood Lackey. She worked for BellSouth and Belk.
She is survived by two daughters, Libby Beard and Jan Hoyle, both of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Casey Auton (Chip) of Crouse, and Brian Beard (April), Traci Dellinger (Mike), and Shelli Jenkins (Scott), all of Lincolnton; and eight great-grandchildren, Cayleigh Auton, Cambrey Auton, Caleb Beard, Easton Beard, Dennan Beard, Austin Dellinger, Noah Jenkins, and Cortney Jenkins.
She was a special wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother where she played an important role in all of her family’s lives with a helping hand and a loving heart.
As a life-long dedicated active member of Church of our Savior, also known as Woodside, she served on the vestry, alter guild and various other duties anywhere she was needed. She loved her little church.
The family would like to thank all of the friends, neighbors and relatives who have been so supportive over the years. Also, thanks to Regina, Abby, Barbara and Mindy of VIA Health Partners (Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County). We would also like to give a special thanks to Ruby McGill for her continued help and support.
