Mary Ellen Meyers Weinstein, age 77, born on November 21, 1947, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Lincolnton, North Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of George Meyers and Anne McGinley Meyers and grew up alongside her sister Peggy Schaum —and three brothers—Georgie, Dennis, and Michael Meyers.
Mary Ellen was deeply proud of her Irish Catholic heritage and graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her life. As a devoted military spouse and stay-at-home mother, she dedicated herself to raising her family while supporting her husband’s military career. This journey took her from Pennsylvania to Hawaii, Virginia, Connecticut, and ultimately North Carolina.
Mary Ellen was the adoring wife of 53 years to George and the loving mother of four children: Dan, Terry, Stephanie, and Andrew. She found immense joy in being a grandmother to Monica and Brianna, whom she adored and spoiled at every opportunity. Her family was the heart of her world.
Mary Ellen had a passion for reading books, gardening, baking, and nurturing those around her. Her warmth and care left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church in Lincolnton, North Carolina, on December 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
